World War II Veteran Paul Lambarth Owned Ann Arbor Aero Service

Paul Samuel Lambarth,of Saline died March 16, 2013, at the age of 91.Paul was born on March 28, 1921, in Saline, Michigan, the son of Samuel and Olga (Walker) Lambarth.

He had been a Saline resident most of his life graduating from Saline High School in 1939. He went on to college. Paul loved to fly earning his pilot’s license during his teenage years. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He worked as a commercial pilot and owned and operated Ann Arbor Aero Service for 25 years. On April 19, 1947, he married Phyllis Klagstad at the Martha Mary Chapel in Macon, Michigan.

Survivors include his wife, Phyllis; his children, Stephen (Lana) Lambarth of Granbury, Texas, and Lisa (Alan) Hartman of Saline, Michigan. Other survivors include his grandchildren, Taryn, Jaime (Matt) Cady and Jordan Hartman, Amber (Brian) Henderson, Matthew and Lindsey Lambarth, great-grandson Kimball Henderson, brother-in-law Robert Klagstad and 9 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Helen Moser and brother-in-law Dr. James Moser.

A celebration of Paul’s life will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at 12 p.m. at St. Paul United Church of Christ, 122 W. Michigan Ave., Saline, Michigan with Rev. Dr. Patricia Kenney officiating. Visitation will begin at the church at 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery, Saline. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Wings of Mercy or St. Paul United Church of Christ. Envelopes will be available at the church.
