The annual event raises funds for Saline Community Education programming, local sports teams, as well as local agencies like Saline Area Social Service. Admission is $3.
Over the next few days, we'll showcase some of the best things to see and do at the Saline Craft Show.
#3. Claudia Chandler's Fused Glass Garden Art
“I have always been an artist inside, struggling to create,” says Claudia Chander of Tecumseh. “But I found my inspiration in glass work. My flowers, which stay fresh and colorful no matter the season, can come out of my kiln and decorate your yard.”
Besides fused glass, she also does stained glass.
“To create a flower, many pieces are all fused into a flat sheet of glass at 1450 degrees, and once cooled is reheated slowly to 1200 degrees and slowed slumped over a mold which then gives them the form,” Claudia says.
These can decorate your yard both summer and winter, although Claudia admits she brings them in each fall and they decorate her home during the winter months. Claudia hopes to share her passion with her customers on March 16 at the Saline Spring Craft Show at Saline Middle School, 7190 N. Maple Road.
