Sept. 10 Golf Outing Benefits DARE Program
Spaces are still open for the Saline Police Department’s DARE golf outing set for Sept. 10.
The outing takes place at Rustic Glen Golf Course, 12090 W. Michigan Ave.
DARE works with students at Saline Area Schools to provide education about drugs, bullying and other issues. Each year DARE gives safety presentations to 180 preschool students, helps with Safety Town, provides education about good decision making to middle school students, provides information to children about Halloween Safety, and participates in the 24-hour Relay Challenge at the high school.
Saline Police Department DARE Officer Dave Ringe said the golf outing is a major source of funding for the program.
The golf outing begins at 7:30 a.m. with check in and a continental breakfast. The golf begins with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Lunch will be provided near the clubhouse and 15th hole.
Mac’s Acadian Seafood Shack is providing a prime rib dinner following the golf outing.
On one of the holes, a golfer who hits a hole-in-one will win a one-year lease of a new vehicle from Bill Crispin Chevrolet.
Cost is $100 per person or $400 per foursome. Make checks payable to the Saline Police Department DARE Golf Outing at 100 N. Harris St.
