Multiple people on social media are reporting a 17-year-old male drowned at Milan Beach early Saturday evening.
The Detroit News identified the boy as Jorge Delgadillo-Flores, of Inkster.
The Monroe County Sheriff's Department dive team joined the search for the teenager who was recovered from the water after being submerged from an unknown amount of time.
Fire departments from Milan and Dundee, Huron Valley Ambulance, Survival Flight, Michigan State Police and Milan Police were also at the scene.
Milan Beach, located near Cone Road and the US 23 exit, has been a local summer getaway for local residents since the 1960s. It has also been known as Heath Beach and Cleanwater Beach.
According to its website, there are no lifeguards at the privately-owned beach and guests are warned to swim at their own risk.
In June of 2018, a Detroit man drowned at the beach.
