Real Estate Report: Saline's Market Bounces Back in June After a Dismal May

The real estate market in the City of Saline has bounced back after a dismal May.

Numbers are still rolling in for the month of June, but records available on the City of Saline website show 15 sales for $3,880,798 in sales - and one of those sales doesn't show a price.

That's down by more than $2 million from the June of 2019 report, which showed $6,072,686, but transaction reporting is often delayed.

With that in mind, here's a comparison of May sales for 2019 and 2020.

In 2019, there were 22 sales for $8,599,826. One of those sales was the IMI building at 1325 Woodland Drive for $2,801,655. But even without that, there were 21 sales for $5,798,171.

In 2020? There were six sales for $1,670,701. Even taking out the industrial property, 2020 sales were just 28.8 percent of 2019 sales.

The final tally for April of 2020 was $5,014,000, about 56 percent of the $9 million in sales in 2019

The final tally for March of 2020 was $3.1 million, or about 37 percent of theĀ $8.3 million total in 2019.

June of 2020's sales represent about 64 percent of the sales in 2019 - the highest percentage yet since the COVID-19 lockdowns began.
