Army Veteran Anthony D'Agostino Worked 38 Years for the Post Office

Anthony D’Agostino, 90, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Monday, January 20, 2020 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ypsilanti.

He was born on July 19, 1929, in Detroit Michigan, to Frank and Antoinette (Cardone) D’Agostino. Anthony honorably served in the US Army from 1950-1952. Upon discharge, he worked for the US Postal Service for 38 years, retiring in 1989.

Anthony was a devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather and his family meant everything to him. Anthony had an amazing gift of telling jokes to anyone who would listen, and took great joy in making others laugh. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Michigan Wolverines, Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions.

Anthony is survived by his son’s Richard D’Agostino of Mesa, Arizona and Alan (Lori) D’Agostino of Ann Arbor, Daughter Deanna (Steve) Champagne of Chelsea and Daughter-in-law Cynthia D’Agostino of Brighton. Anthony was the proud grandfather of 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Anthony was preceded in death by his son David D’Agostino, parents Frank and Antoinette D’Agostino, sister’s Carmella Letourneau, Rose LaPlante, Irene Krauss and brother Daniel D’Agostino.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at 1:30 P.M., at the Robison-Bahnmiller funeral home in Saline with Rev. Fr. James Conlon officiating. Family will receive friends before the service on Saturday from 12:00 P.M. until the time of service at 1:30 P.M. Burial will take place in the Holy Spirit Cemetery in Brighton, MI in the future.
