Speed Sign Stolen in York Township

The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of one of its interactive (radar) speed signs.  The radar sign was deployed by The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit, in the area of Willis and Crane roads in York Township on Jan. 2.

The radar sign was secured to the speed limit sign using bolts and a chain lock which was later discovered by deputies to have been cut. 

The radar sign was last seen by deputies around 10 pm on Jan. 8.  The theft is believed to have occurred in the evening hours on Jan. 8 into Jan. 9.  If you have any information regarding the theft contact Deputy Andrew Carter at (734) 971-8400 ext. 67088 or carteran@washtenaw.org. or call 911.
