Moved by the suffering he witnessed after the devastating Haiti earthquake of 2010, Author Mitch Albom adopted a failing orphanage in the city of Port-au-Prince. There he met Chika, a bold and curious five-year-old girl, who had developed a life-threatening brain tumor. The story of their journey and the many things they learned along the way is told in Albom’s new book Finding Chika. It is Mitch’s hope that audiences will be moved by Chika’s courage, enlightened by her journey, inspired by her humanity and empowered to help ease the suffering of children worldwide.
The event will take place on Monday, February 24th at 7pm at the Saline Middle School Auditorium. Tickets are available at https://www.chadtough.org/an-evening-with-mitch-albom/
Proceeds will benefit The ChadTough Foundation.
Partly Cloudy , with a high of 34 and low of 20 degrees. Sunny during the morning, partly cloudy during the afternoon, clear for the evening,
The Davenport/Curtiss house just has to be purchased with no plans for use and certainly significant on-going maintenance costs "to preserve the character of Saline".
And 10,000 dollars on a search committee. This city is making some questionable decisions. We will see the mayor at the farmers market in 2 months walking around with a cigar schmoozing
Halle Powell would not be denied. She willed this win for Saline. Best performance I've seen in quite some time.
