Griffin Clark and Ben Wild each completed the hat trick as Saline defeated Huron, 9-1, in a contest shortened by the mercy rule Thursday at the Ice Cube in Ann Arbor.
It was the second consecutive win for Saline, which improved to 3-5.
“We had a good challenge to start the season with four games against top-10 teams. We’ve had two solid games in a row,” Coach Paul Fassbender said.
After Tuesday’s emotional come-from-behind win against Gabriel Richard, Fassbender wanted to make sure his team stayed focused against a weaker Huron team. The Hornets did that.
“We got some guys a lot of ice time. It was a good game for everybody,” Fassbender said.
Cody Stein earned the victory in goal.
Also scoring for Saline were Keegan Bunting, Josh Peitz and Yanic Sadek.
