Saline Main Street Introduces the Military and Veteran Banner Project

SALINE, MI (September 12, 2019) – Saline Main Street presents a new annual banner project to commemorate veterans and active duty military. This Veterans Day, the organization will be lining the streets of Downtown Saline with the faces of locally connected women and men who have served or are currently enlisted in the US Armed Forces.

The group is summoning residents and stakeholders of Saline to honor friends, family and loved ones by dedicating a banner in their honor. Here is how people can take part in this special banner project –

Each banner will be double sided, full-color and custom designed with the image and name of an honoree, military branch and dates of service or war/conflict.  The banners will be hung in Downtown Saline this fall to celebrate Veterans Day.  Upon removal, the banners may be returned to the purchaser –  unless s/he chooses to have the banner hung again the following year, which is an option.

To qualify for the Military and Veteran Banner Project, the honoree must be an active duty member of the United States Armed Forces, a veteran who has been honorably discharged from the United States Armed Forces, or died in the line of duty.

The fee to purchase a banner is $100.  The application submission deadline for installation in 2019 is October 1st. Banner application forms are available on the Saline Main Street website (salinemainstreet.org) and in various locations in the City including City Hall, the Saline District Library, the Saline Recreation Center, and the Saline Main Street Office.
