On Sunday April 28, 2019 members of Scouts BSA Troop 439 planted 200 White Pine seedlings at Tri County Sportmen's League in remembrance of Earth Day. The troop spent the weekend camping at the sportsmen's, club hosting several perspective new members, and area webelos scouts and parents from Cub Scout Pack 461 (Saline, MI) and Pack 449 (Milan, MI).
Throughout the weekend the scouts in Troop 439 learned about various trees on the property while earning the Forestry Merit Badge. They then shared the knowledge with their younger guests. At the end of the weekend, the scouts, several parents and siblings spent 3 hours planting White Pine tree seedlings to help with erosion, and to create a future sound barrier.
