Emily V. Harshman

Our beautiful mom passed away at the age of 82 in the early morning hours of November 10, 2018. Emily was the youngest of seven children, born to Alva Curtis and Nellie Gertrude Harshman.

She married her best friend, Charles Norman Harshman, in 1956. They were introduced by a mutual friend, who thought it was a funny coincidence they had the same last name. She spent the majority of her career and life in Shelby Township, Michigan, working at the township municipality where she made many friends until she retired and moved to Saline, Michigan.

She is predeceased by her husband and all six siblings. Emily is survived by her children, Norma Harshman Kolasa (David), Randall Harshman, Sandra Harshman Traskos (Gerald), and her loving grandchildren Jacob Wylonis (Amanda), Marisa Wylonis and Tyler Traskos, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Emily truly loved children and the holidays. Every year, she bought many toys to donate to local collection sites for needy children.

Donations can be made to Toys for Tots, St. Jude Children's Hospital or the Salvation Army. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. There will be a memorial service/celebration of her life on Saturday, January 19, 2019, at the Robison-Bahnmiller Funeral Home, 301 E. Michigan Avenue, Saline, Michigan. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM, with a service at 2:00 PM.
