John Michael Adsit, age 57, passed away suddenly at home in Van Nuys, CA of natural causes. He was born on May 25, 1961 at Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin son of Col. John Miley Adsit and Nancy Philbin Adsit. He grew up the older of two sons living in Wisconsin, Missouri, Germany, South Korea, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and California.

He graduated from University of Michigan in 1983 with a Bachelor of Arts in Classical Latin and from The George Washington University Law School in 1987 with a Juris Doctorate, specializing in national and International business law. He had a private law practice and business consultancy in the greater Los Angeles area, licensed before all California state and federal courts, representing clients in areas of corporate & business planning, strategy, contracts, manufacturing, distribution, wholesale operations, franchising, real estate, risk avoidance and commercial litigation. John loved spending time with his sons, traveling, visiting and interacting with other cultures and people. At UM he was President and coach of the boxing club and was active in University Christian Outreach. He was very talented and enjoyed many creative artistic and musical pursuits.

He is survived by his sons, Liam Adsit and Teagan Adsit of Carlsbad, CA; his mother Nancy Philbin Adsit of Saline, MI; and his brother Daniel Adsit of Ann Arbor, MI. He is proceeded in death by his father Col. John Miley Adsit.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 20th, 10:00 a.m., at First United Methodist Church of Saline 1200 N. Ann Arbor Street ~ Saline, Michigan 48176. Rev. Thomas Zimmerman will officiate.
