Rebecca Cantrell Presented with Rebekah Warren 2018 Envision Michigan Scholarship
Rebecca Cantrell, a 2018 Saline High School graduate, was presented with the Rebekah Warren 2018 Envision Michigan Scholarship at Tuesday’s Board of Education meeting.
Warren, state senator for the 18th District, created the scholarship fund to promote progressive policies, educational opportunities and active citizenship in Michigan. Each year, State Sen. Warren presents the $1,000 scholarship to at least two graduating high school seniors who plan to attend university, college, technical or trade school.
P.J.Petitpren, special projects coordinator for Warren, presented the scholarship to Cantrell at Tuesday’s meeting.
Cantrell will attend Purdue University. She’s won numerous awards at Saline, including the scholar athlete award, the varsity athlete award and the Golden Honor Roll award. She competed in cross country and track and field and was involved in Girl Scouts, National Honor Society, student council and Saline High School Marching Band.
