The Saline Area Schools will host a free showing of the documentary "Most Likely to Succeed" at 6:30 p.m. April 11 in the Liberty School Media Center. The film will be followed by a discussion period with prompts for conversation.
Supt. Scot Graden announced the free showing at the March 13 meeting of the board of education. He said that while the film is three years old, certain parts of it are "timeless."
The film explores the history of public education and how many of the ways curricula are structured today still reflect the values of the 1890s when they were established. The film focuses on newer instructional techniques, including hands-on learning and project-based learning that are currently being emphasized in the Saline schools.
