Funeral for Former Saline Fire Chief Manny Hill Monday

Mancle "Manny" Konrad Hill, 85, of Saline, Michigan passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 12, 2017 with his family by his side.

Manny was born February 29, 1932 to the late Joseph and Frieda Hill. Loving husband to the late Mary Hill; beloved father of Jerry (Sherrie) Hill, Diane Welmers (Steve Leaney), Karen (Ralph) Rafalski, and Vicky (Roy) Shadbolt; special grandfather of 16 and great-grandfather of 27. Also survived by his brother Harold (Jeanette) Hill and brother-in-law Robert Rathfon and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings Marie, Ted, Mae, Dorothy, and Joey.

Manny was a Saline Area Firefighter for 32 years of service with several years as Assistant Chief and his last 9 years (1984-1993) as Fire Chief. He enjoyed snowmobiling through the U.P. of Michigan with his friends. Deer hunting in Lewiston for 49 years with Granny, Jerry, Jimmy and Larry with various other friends through the years playing cards, telling lies, and not much deer hunting. He especially enjoyed the cabin in Lewiston with his family grandchildren/great-grandchildren and friends.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, October 15, 2017 from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Robison-Bahnmiller Funeral Home in Saline. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 16, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Pastor Drexel Morton will be officiating the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The American Lung Association or the American Kidney Fund, and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
