The Saline Police Department is investigating the attempted theft of a chainsaw from Ace Hardware. Anyone recognizing the suspect pictured above, or the Jeep that picked him up, is asked contact Sgt. Andy Hartwig at ahartwig@cityofsaline.org or 734-429-7911.
According to Sgt. Hartwig, a suspect moved a chainsaw from its original location to a place near the exit. He left the building several times to smoke cigarettes before leaving without the chainsaw and being picked up in the Red Jeep.
Sgt. Hartwig said though nothing was stolen the Saline Police Department treats preparing to steal as seriously as it treats theft.
Partly Cloudy , with a high of 38 and low of 16 degrees. Sunny in the morning, cloudy for the afternoon, overcast in the evening, clear overnight.
I have to commend the Saline City manager and engineer for keeping their cool and for their professionalism during the three hour Mill Pond Dam town hall meeting.
I think what's insulting is that the city is bloating the numbers to bolster their case.
Logically, the dam has no practical use. Of course, it's going to cost more. Of course, there's a level of risk there. Of course, over some period of time, it's going to cost more to maintain than a stream.
Life cycle cost analysis is certainly appropriate when considering new assets, but it may not be as appropriate when evaluating existing assets.
