Tee Off for Saline Special Education Aug. 19 at Rustic Glen

Tee off to support Saline Area Schools special education on Aug. 19 at Rustic Glen Golf Club, 12090 W. Michigan Ave., Saline.

Organizers hope the ninth annual event will raise $50,000 to support more than 700 students receiving special education. It is the lone fundraiser for Saline special education.

The event will fund many initiatives, including:

• Special education summer programming
• School trips to Washington, D.C., Toronto and fifth grade science camp.
• Respect Day
• The purchase of a reliable van for afterschool and weekend job coaching.
• Items on teacher wish lists.

The golf outing begins with registration (8 a.m.) and a shot gun start at 9 a.m. Lunch will be served at 1:30 p.m., when there will also be raffles and prize giveaways.

Golf and lunch costs $85 per person or $340 per team. The cost is $35 for those who don’t want to golf but wish to eat lunch.
