Saline Volleyball Team Sweeps Rivals at SEC Red Jamboree

Saline went 5-0 at the SEC Jamboree at Bedford Monday.

Saline defeated Skyline, 25-19 and 25-20, Bedford, 25-18 and 26-24, Monroe, 25-23 and 25-19, Huron, 25-20 and 25-15, and Pioneer, 25-14 and 25-9.

Saline improved to 11-0 in the season.

Senior Olivia Sovitch led the attack with 36 kills and  2.5 blocks. Senior Olivia Hesse also landed 23 kills and had six blocks.

The offense flowed through Zoey Ammon, who had 95 assists. She also had 11 kills. Madison Whitfield and Olivia Vance also had 11 kills.

The Hornets are off until Sept. 10 when they play at the Ladywood Tourney. They’ll host a tournament at Saline Sept. 17.
