Loftus Fires 78 as Saline Takes 2nd at Brighton Invitational

Saline placed second in a matchup of some of Michigan’s best high school golf teams at the Brighton Invitational Monday.

Traverse City West, the reigning state championships, shot 322 to best Saline by three strokes. Host Brighton was third at 337.

Catherine Loftus shot 78 to lead Saline and make the all-tournament team. Stephanie Schick (80), Molly Pribble (81) and Sydney Page (86) completed the scoring for Saline. Marge Wood also golfed, scoring 94.

Saline varsity and junior varsity golf teams face Pioneer at Lake Forest Golf Club Tuesday. Tee-off is at 1 p.m.
