Marie Schluter Resigns as Saline High School Assistant Principal

Marie Schluter as resigned as Saline High School vice-principal, Superintendent Scot Graden confirmed Thursday.

Graden said the Schluter resigned to take a position in another school district but did not disclose where she was going.

The district has already posted the position

"It's tight. We need someone soon," Graden said, when asked about the process to hire a new assistant principal.

According to the job posting, the new assistant principal will begin working around Aug. 29.

The job pays between $84,474 and $95,011. Among other qualifications, candidates should have a bachelor's degree and master's degree, preferably in educational leadership, extensive teaching experience and successful experience as an administrator.

Schluter came to Saline from Pinckney, where she worked as assistant principal from 2007-2012.

Her departure and eventual replacement means that two of the four administrators at the school will be new. David Raft, former Saline Middle School principal, replaced Dr. Julie Helber, who left the district to become superintendent in Chelsea.
