WALLED LAKE -- The Saline varsity football team marked the dawn of a new era with 27-14 upset victory over Walled Lake Western.
Saline won its first game under new head coach Joe Palka.
The Hornets jumped to a 14-0 lead on a 15-yard passing play between Tyler Palka and Caleb Luckett and a 70-yard keeper by Palka. Wallked Lake Western evened the score at 14 in the second quarter. In the third quarter, Gage Hammond made a great catch on a 25-yard pass from Palka to give Saline the lead. Saline scored again on a 26-yard run by Palka with 7:28 to play.
