The Saline Fidget Sisters are offering a Fidget Mat Workshop on October 28th. The workshop is free. All materials to make a fidget mat are provided. This is a great opportunity to learn the key elements when creating a fidget mat for someone with memory loss (Alzheimer, vascular, Lewy body, frontotemporal, etc.) The mat will make a wonderful gift for a family member, friend, or donate with those we provide to memory care facilities. Basic sewing skills are all you need. All work is done with a sewing machine. You are welcome to bring your own sewing machine. We do have machines available, please let us know if you would like to reserve one. The workshop is Saturday, October 28th from 12 to 4 pm in the Quilting Season store classroom. For more information or to register; please contact Kay Van Orman, kayvanorman@gmail.com, or 734-476-4020.
Note - registration is required.

Sunny, with a high of 37 and low of 16 degrees. Sunny in the morning, clear in the afternoon and evening,
I have to commend the Saline City manager and engineer for keeping their cool and for their professionalism during the three hour Mill Pond Dam town hall meeting.
I think what's insulting is that the city is bloating the numbers to bolster their case.
Logically, the dam has no practical use. Of course, it's going to cost more. Of course, there's a level of risk there. Of course, over some period of time, it's going to cost more to maintain than a stream.
Life cycle cost analysis is certainly appropriate when considering new assets, but it may not be as appropriate when evaluating existing assets.
