The Rentschler Farm Museum is open for the season Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The museum, located at 1265 E. Michigan Ave. in Saline, is owned by the City of Saline and operated by the Saline Area Historical Society.
The farmstead interprets regional agriculture and farm life during the 1900-1950 time period.
The land was first farmed in 1825; and in 1901, the farmstead was purchased by Emanuel Rentschler. The Rentschlers continued to farm the land until the 1990s.
The farmstead features the farmhouse, garden, chicken coop, dairy barn and milk house, ice house, windmill, upper barn, gift shop and more.
There will be chickens in the chicken house.
Historical Society volunteers will be on hand to answer questions.

I am very disappointed with the leadership of the Rec Center. There is no solution for the people that use the pool for health reasons. What are the alternatives for me? I am a Senior Citizen, new to the area, and need an indoor pool for back exercises.
We are also frustrated. Not having access impacts pain levels, overall health, and quality of life. As long-term members familiar with the dedication, creativity, and commitment of the Rec Center staff, would ask you to consider redirecting your angst. The Rec Center staff is not the problem (more below).
By the way, there was an adjustment for the last shut down and an email was sent about what they are doing about this shutdown. Discuss with them for accurate information. It was all communicated by the Rec Center via email for the last shut down and for the upcoming shut down. Perhaps make sure your email of record
