Meet a Man and His Quilts at My Favorite Café
Here's some news from Two Twelve Arts:
The quilts of John Cox are now on display at My Favorite Café. The show, "HIS QUILTS, No Pink Please," features a variety of masculine-themed quilts that John specially made for the space in the café. John Cox is a retired florist who began quilting more than a decade ago when he made his first quilt as a Christmas present. Since then, he has designed and created more than 120 quilts. “Quilting is like arranging flowers, only in a different medium,” he says. He and his wife Karen have been married 48 years and have four sons and eight grandchildren. In addition to quilting, John enjoys bridge, community theater, cooking, and genealogy (he has traced his family lineage to 13th-Century England). The show will be up through the end of February. A reception will be held this Sunday, January 20, from 3 to 5pm at the café. Stop by to meet the artist and enjoy what the café has to offer.
My Favorite Café is located at 101 S. Ann Arbor St. in downtown Saline.
