Woman Who Was Injured in U.S. 12 Crash Dies
A woman involved in a head-on crash Saturday morning on Michigan Avenue died Saturday, according to a University of Michigan Hospital spokesperson.
Pam Zibbell, 55, of Adrian, was critically injured in the crash at Feldkamp Road. Firefighters from the Saline Area Fire Department used hydraulic tools to extricate Zibbell from a vehicle. Three others involved in the crash, including Zibbell's husband, Bradley Zibbell, were transported to the University of Michigan Hospital. Bradley Zibbell was listed in good condition Sunday afternoon.
The Zibbells were on their way to the Saline Farmers Market, where they have been vendors for several years, selling handmade sweets, cookies, and more. The Zibbells dressed as Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus at the markets during the month of December, acccording to Saline City Council member and market regular David Rhoads.
The crash was investigated by the Michigan State Police. An official from the Michigan State Police said details about the crash were unavailable Sunday.
The crash closed Michigan Avenue west of Austin Road for two hours.
Saline Fire Chief Craig Hoeft said roads were icy and slippery after a couple inches of snow fell early Saturday morning.
The fatal crash was the second traffic incident on Michigan Avenue west of town Saturday morning. At 6 a.m., there was a crash at Schill Road
