Police were called around 8:40 p.m. Aug. 1 when a Springbrook Crescent man spotted a white male walking down the road carrying a knife in his hand.

When police arrived they found two men arguing, the complainant and the man with the knife.

The complainant told police he saw the man walking down the middle of the road with his dog while carrying a knife in his hand. He said he felt threatened by the man.

The Saline man carrying the knife told police he'd been attacked by the complainant's dogs two or three times in the past and was carrying the knife out of his pocket and sheath in case they attacked. He said the dogs aren't always leashed. He also told police he was walking on the sidewalk, not in the middle of the road.

The complainant has requested charges be filed. The case was sent to the prosecutor's office for review.

A resident of Sheffield Drive told police a shirtless male was passed out on her porch and then he got up and walked away, appearing very intoxicated. Police found the 35-year-old Lambkins Road resident nearby. Police say he smelled of intoxicants, was uncooperative and belligerent. The man was wanted on felony warrants out of Wayne and Livingston counties.

Officers attempted to have him sit on the curb but he began walking away. Another Saline Police officer stepped in front of him to stop him from walking away and guide him to the curb. When he resisted the offer took him down to the ground with a strong-arm bar takedown.

Nobody was injured.  The man was taken to the University of Michigan Hospital Emergency Room for treatment.
