James Richard Stimac, age 74, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2020 at his home in Saline. Jim was born on November 15, 1945 in Calumet, MI, the son of Anton Joseph and Rose Margret (Butala) Stimac.
On February 22, 1968 in the St. Francis Church in Ann Arbor, MI, he married Barbara Hemenway. Jim proudly served in the United States Army. He was an Ann Arbor Police Officer from 1968 until his retirement in 1996. He then worked part time for the Saline Police Department.
Jim enjoyed being with his family foremost. His interests and hobbies included Detroit Tigers baseball, playing softball, skydiving, and motorcycling.
Jim is survived by his wife Barbara Stimac of Saline, daughter Nicole (John) Wurst, along with three grandsons, James (19), Sean (17), and Bryce (12) of the Chicago area. Also surviving are his sisters Rita Erkkila and Delores Kotajarvi and nephew Albert Erkkila of Calumet, MI.

You all have my unwavering support and sympathy for your plight. It's Intensely disappointing to learn that the Saline Area School District is treating our teachers this way. This is a systemic issue in the City of Saline.
