Ruth Lange, 92, Was a Loving Mother Who Worked in Real Estate and the Medical Field
Ruth B. Lange, age 92 of Saline, passed away into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 17, 2019. Ruth was born on November 8, 1926 to Leslie and Ivy (Taylor) Hammons in Ohio County, KY.
On December 26, 1946 she married Vernie C. Drake and they brought three children (Donald, Sue and Beverly) into this world.
Vernie passed away suddenly in October of 1962. Ruth married Herbert C. Lange in 1972 who brought four children (Sandra, Patricia, Dawn and Jeffrey) into their family. Herb preceded her in death in January of 2018. Ruth is survived by all seven children; Don (Anita) Drake, Sue (Gary deceased) Trachet, Beverly (Eddie) Camp, Sandra (Tim deceased) Diem, Patricia Quick, Dawn (Tom)Lillie, and Jeff (Pat) Lange. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and also several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers (John, Thompson, and Owen).
Besides being a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt, she split her working life between an assistant in the medical field and a Real Estate Agent. She was known to her many friends as “Belle” and to her loving family as “Nina”. Ruth and Herb loved to travel and spent several winters in Florida. Her very favorite place was their Northern Michigan home of over 30 years in Curran, MI, spending as much time as possible with nature and doing what she called “digging in the dirt”.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 23, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Saline, MI. Burial will take place following the service at Oakwood Cemetery in Saline and a luncheon will follow at the church. Friends may join the family for a time of visitation on Thursday, August 22, 2019 from 3:00 P.M. to 6:30 P.M. at the Robison-Bahnmiller Funeral Home in Saline, and again at the church on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be made to St. Paul Church or Arbor Hospice and envelopes will be available at the funeral home and the church.
