Wacker Chemical to Host Forum on Pittsfield Township Plans

Pittsfield Township residents are invited to attend a forum on Wacker Chemical's plans to build its innovation center and regional headquarters at Avis Farms South, on an 18-acre site along Textile Road, near Marsh View Meadows.

Pittsfield Planning Commission voted in January to postpone actions on a rezoning request to allow the facility. More than 30 people spoke during a public comment period - most against the proposal.

Wacker's forum will be held at 6:30 p.m., Feb. 19, at Harvest Elementary School, 1155 Campus Parkway.

In a letter to Pittsfield residents, Wacker president and CEO David Wilhoit said he and his management team hoped to answer questions about their plans.

"We recognize the need to provide Pittsfield Township residents additional information about our company, policies, and procedures and our desire to grow with you and become a valued member of your community," Wilhoit wrote.

The meeting is expected to last an hour.
