Saline Twirlettes had seven winners at the Miss Majorette competition held on May 12 at Walled Lake Northern High School.
Pictured, from left to right in front, are Lizzie Branch, sophomore at Grass Lake, winner of the Junior Miss Majorette royalty title; newcomer Alicia Herter, who won the tiny tot Basic Skills pageant; recent Saline graduate Amanda Coy, who won the Teenage Miss Majorette royalty title; and Maggie Smith, won her first title, Juvenile Beginner pageant winner.
In back are Alexis Figueras, a Saline seventh grader won the Preteen Intermediate pageant; Grass Lake seventh grader, Haley Alvarez, crowned Preteen Miss Majorette of Michigan; and Grass Lake fifth grader Hanna Alvarez, who was awarded the Juvenile Miss Majorette of Michigan title.
Lizzie, Amanda, Maggie, Alexis, Haley and Hanna will all represent Michigan at their respective national pageants this coming July.
Sunny, with a high of 47 and low of 29 degrees. Sunny in the morning, clear during the afternoon and evening,
I have to commend the Saline City manager and engineer for keeping their cool and for their professionalism during the three hour Mill Pond Dam town hall meeting.
I think what's insulting is that the city is bloating the numbers to bolster their case.
Logically, the dam has no practical use. Of course, it's going to cost more. Of course, there's a level of risk there. Of course, over some period of time, it's going to cost more to maintain than a stream.
Life cycle cost analysis is certainly appropriate when considering new assets, but it may not be as appropriate when evaluating existing assets.
