Seven Compete for Miss Saline Crown Wednesday at the Fair

Seven contestants will vie for the title of Miss Saline at the annual Miss Saline Pageant at 8 p.m., Aug. 30, at the Saline Community Fair.

The fair is held at the Washtenaw Farm Council Grounds, 5055 Ann Arbor-Saline Road.

Kelly Adamovicz, Sarah Brannan, Erin Buckeridge, Amanda Coy, Chloe Lang, Saige Jost and Chrissy Polzin will compete in the pageant, where thousands of dollars in scholarships and gifts are awarded each year. All seven young women are honor roll students at Saline High School

Kelly Adamovicz is a captain on the cross country team. She sings with the Ten Tones a cappella group and is a member of Chamber Choir. Kelly has her certification in CPR and worked as a Lifeguard this summer. Though she remains undecided in college decisions, she is passionate about music. 

Sarah Brannan is a member of the student council and National Society of High School Scholars. She is captain of the varsity soccer team and plays basketball. She enjoys art and baking. Sarah hopes to attend Adrian College to play soccer and enroll in a Pre-Medical program.  

Erin Buckeridge is a four-year member of the Saline Marching Band and the wind ensemble. She is a nationally-ranked synchronized skater. Erin hopes to attend Wayne State University to pursue a doctorate in Physical Therapy.

Amanda Coy’s leadership experience involves serving as Treasurer of the NHS and Vice President of French Club. Currently she is Miss Majorette of Michigan. She attended Girls State and her goal is to become an obstetrician.

Chloe Lange is a varsity cross country and track participant. She plays an active role in the National Art Honors Society.  Chloe plays guitar in the spare time and hopes to attend Ferris State University pursuing a Graphic Design degree. 

Saige Jost serves on the National Art Honor Society and is captain of the varsity tennis team. She won the Regional Sportsmanship Award from the USTA. Saige enjoys reading fiction and will work toward a dual degree in Environmental Science and Spanish.

Chrissy Polzin has gained her leadership experience though 4-H and FFA. She is a cross country runner and active with the 4-H Livestock judging and Dairy programs. She attended the FFA Washington Leadership Conference. Chrissy plans on attending Kettering University to become an electrical engineer.
