Saline Area Players will be holding auditions for the musical Oliver, to be performed October 20-22. Rebecca Groeb, well-known for her theater work in Saline is the artistic director for the show. She began in the Saline Area Players as a child and is the current Cultural Arts Specialist/Theater Manager for Saline Area Schools. The music director will be Robert Cindric, well-known in the Saline Schools for his years in the vocal music department.
Auditions will take place on August 5 in the Saline HS Drama Lab (Black Box). Children in grades 1st-8th should attend the 10:00 AM audition slot. Those in 9th grade through adult should attend the 1:00 PM slot. Registration for each audition period will begin 30 minutes ahead of time. Detailed information will be coming out soon on the Saline Area Players’ website www.salineareaplayers.org. Callbacks, if needed, will be August 6.
If you are thinking about auditioning, and are not sure, or want to brush up your skills, or want more information, please attend the Audition Workshop on July 30. It will be held in the Saline HS Drama Lab (Black Box). The workshop is for kids in grades 1st-8th from 2-3:30 PM and persons in 9th grade – adult from 4-6 PM. You will learn some of the songs of the show and more about what to expect at auditions.

The mayor and city council love to spend taxpayer dollars frivolously. More and more $$$ into the rec center, that needs to stop. We still don’t have drinkable water and yet the city keeps raising rates. Can’t speak for everyone but I would much rather have clean water than a “lazy river!”

You avoided my main point. The rec center is a nice amenity for those that use it. However, it is not a necessity. Clean safe water that we pay exorbitant rates for IS a necessity for EVERYONE!

I agree with your comments about this journalist. I use the word journalist loosely here, as a journalist should be bringing forth the views of the people they are interviewing, not bringing their obvious bias into every forced conversation.
