Fans of country music will love the Saline Varsity Blues show which continues Friday and Saturday at Saline High School. Showtime is at 7 p.m.
Saline's touring youth choir opened their three-night act Thursday to a large crowd in the Ellen Ewing Performing Arts Center.
The concert featured acts by the Kids' Choir, the Junior Varsity Cast, and the Varsity Blues, which is composed of Eric Blovits, Marney Brown, Elizabeth Crawford, Jordyn Davis, Daniel Emerson, Kathryn Franko, Annie Frego, Mackenzie Hagood, Cora Hassberger, Jimmy Lancaster, Mary McCall, Madailein Miller, Ryan Moore, Brian Peterson, Mackenzie Piche, Alec Richards and Lindsay Troykey.
The show began with the full cast performing a medley of classic country standards, like the Gatlin Brothers' All the Gold in California. The Varsity Blues focused on country music, but mixed in a few blues and pop songs in the first two acts. The show concluded with old time rock and soul classics from the Varsity Blues most recent tour.
