Former Saline resident releases 15th book

FORMER AREA RESIDENT RELEASES 15TH BOOK:

Saline, Michigan:

Former resident of the Saline area, Donna Hale Chandler has just released her latest book. Chandler, now residing on The Treasure Coast of Florida after retiring from the Saline School District, has written or co-written 15 books. The new release titled: LAST RIDE, is the 8th book in a series referred to as the Crow’s Lake series. She states, “The series is of a western flavor, beginning as the Civil War kicks off and follows the lives of three brothers who fought for the Confederacy. From there it follows their lives and those who befriend them into the 20th and eventually close to the 21st century.”

Prior to this series, with her co-writer Richard Lee King, they had released a two-book series titled: CLOSED CASES, (Stony Johnson, P.I.) and a children’s book titled: ADVENTURES OF GIZZY. Even before that, she and King discovered that they had each been saving all of those little hints you would find in your daily newspaper or in other periodicals and they decided not only to combine them, but to also alphabetize and organize them into something they would find more useful. That resulted in a two-book series titled THE HINTS BOOK ALMANAC containing over 2700 helpful household hints.

According to Chandler, “When I first started writing, it was mostly poems about the people and happenings in my life. I had written quite a few of them, but it was pretty amateurish stuff, which I never intended for anyone to see. However, with the encouragement of a close friend, I eventually turned some of them into my first book titled: LIFE HAPPENS (My Story)."

“That led to another book titled: BEGINNING TO BEGIN (Again) and eventually to AMAZING GRACE which is basically the family history of the Diamond Family. The process of getting that book ready for print is probably the most rewarding thing I’ve been involved with since I retired,” she says.
