Rhonda Jean Hoagland, age 67, passed away on Monday, December 2, 2019 at her home in Saline.

She was born on November 10, 1952 in Lapeer, the daughter of the late Max and Beulah (Wright) Hoagland. On May 12, 1973, she married Larry Good and he survives.

In 1978 she received a Bachelor of Arts from Oakland University. Her greatest joy came from 15 years spent as a typesetter for a range of magazine and book printing companies in Southfield, Ann Arbor, and Lansing. She loved the creativity and precision in the work. When technology changes made typesetting obsolete, Rhonda translated some of the skills and knowledge she’d acquired into network administration roles for another 15 years, at a call center in Lansing and at Corporation for a Skilled Workforce in Ann Arbor. In both cases, her greatest joy came from supporting staff in their use of computers and software.

Rhonda had a special place in her heart for animals, especially dogs and cats that were in need of a loving adoption home after going through rough times. Family was equally special to her, especially her sister, Marcia, and parents when they were alive, her two nieces, grandnephew, and her father and mother-in-law, when they were alive.

Rhonda was a voracious reader and loved anything written by Stephen King. Writing poetry went hand in hand with her love of literature. Collecting moose, whether they be stuffed or made from glass, pewter, or other materials was a favorite hobby of hers, along with building and repairing things, and meandering through stores.

Larry and Rhonda also loved to take vacation trips across the United States and Canada, and spend time at their cabin up north.

Survivors in addition to her husband include her two nieces and their families (Alison, Lance and Conner Nichols; Alicia and Douglas Wears), her step-brother and his wife (Michael and Grace McCauley); Jennifer and Steve Sherman and their four children; Michael McCauley, Jr., his wife, Laura, and their two sons; Stacy, Larry & Ben Moyer; her brother-in-law and his wife (Allen and Jean Scott); her step-sister (Faye McMann); and Larry’s two brothers and their families (Dennis, Gloria and Tracy Good; Jim and Diana Good and daughters Kristie and Katie and their spouses); her dog Gus, and her cat Harry. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, and her father and mother-in-law (Jack and Donna Good).
