A painted rock, sometimes called a kindness stone, is a rock someone has taken and decorated with the purpose of spreading joy to others. Come try your hand at painting a few rocks. How do you know they resigned and if they did, why assume it was for negative reasons. Sounds like some very good experience between these candidates and we are hopeful they will be treated during this process and after conclusion with respect and professionalism.
