There were no new deaths or hospitalizations for the second straight day when the Washtenaw County Health Department updated COVID-19 data Thursday afternoon.
114 Washtenaw County residents have died with COVID-19. 440 residents have been hospitalized. 2 people have died with COVID-19 since July 31.
16 new lab-confirmed cases Thursday brought the total to 2,515. There were nine recoveries for a total of 2,221/
The county didn't update zip code data today due to technical problems. Yesterday, the county reported eight new cases in Saline's 48176 zip code. The Saline Post has reached out to the health department seeking information about the unusually high single-day case count.
The State of Michigan reported 16 additional deaths today - though 15 were added after a review of vital records. 6,440 Michigan residents with COVID-19 have died. Michigan reported 758 confirmed cases.
The state updated hospitalization data today. Over the last two days the number of patients with or suspected to have COVID-19 in critical care has fallen by 24 to 164. The number of patients on ventilators has fallen by eight to 85.
The number of confirmed pediatric patients is five, down by one. There are also five pediatric patients counted as "suspected" cases.
