Saline Fiddlers to Auction Exclusive Use of a Luxury Suite to See Pink Floyd's Roger Waters in Detroit

Guests at Casino Royale, the fast-approaching James Bond-themed fundraiser for The Saline Fiddlers Philharmonic, will have the opportunity to bid on private luxury suite tickets to one of the most hotly-anticipated concert events of the summer: the return of Roger Waters – the creative force behind Pink Floyd – to Detroit.

Waters “This is Not a Drill” tour – an audio-visual experience in the round – promises to be epic when it hits Little Caesar’s Arena on July 14. Billboard Magazine described his last tour as “…the most striking cinematic theatrics ever employed on a rock stage. There should be Oscars for this kind of work.”

Waters promises the shows will be no-holds-barred.  “My work is to think, ‘Well, how can I make rock & roll more interesting or theatrical or exciting or visual or musical or whatever?’ That’s what I’ve spent the last 50 years doing, expressing myself.”

The video announcement for the tour featured him rehearsing “Comfortably Numb,” “Sheep,” his solo song “The Powers That Be” and others with his band.

The concert package will be part of the silent auction at Casino Royale. The package includes 18 luxury suite tickets to the concert and three VIP parking passes. The estimated value is more than $4,000.

About Casino Royale and How to Attend

The Casino Royale Fundraiser is Saturday, Feb. 22 at Tri-County Sportsmen’s League, 8640 Moon Road, Saline. Anyone is welcome to attend. Advance tickets ($25) are available at Eventbrite and they can also be purchased for $30 at the door.

From 7 p.m. – 11 p.m., professionals will be dealing baccarat, blackjack and Texas hold ‘em, spinning the roulette wheel and manning the craps table.  Novice players will get expert instruction and all the gambling is with fun money you buy, with the proceeds benefiting the Fiddlers.

Complimentary hors d’oeuvres will include skewered Mediterranean-style shrimp, pastrami- style smoked salmon and crudité all from Manchester-based caterer The Moveable Feast, which is headed by award-winning Chef Dan Huntsbarger.   

There will be a cash bar and the bartenders at Tri-County will be mixing the Carte Blanche, a cocktail created by London’s Savoy Hotel – a favorite haunt of Bond creator Ian Fleming – in honor of Agent 007.
