Trunk or Treat is a small-town event with a big city crowd.
Saline Main Street organizers counted 1,772 visitors to the Halloween event in downtown Saline Wednesday.
Here's how long the line was for the event, held in the parking lot of Key Bank. People enter the event from McKay Street. Last year, the line went around the corner, on to Michigan Avenue and then on to Michigan Avenue. Because of the traffic on Michigan and North Ann Arbor Street, organizers felt it would safer to turn the line west on McKay Street. Even still, the line went all the way up the block, on to Lewis Street and around to Michigan Avenue.

Mayor Brian Marl, Fire Chief Craig Hoeft and Police Chief Jerrod Hart were among those handing out treats to the costumed children.
Sunny, with a high of 89 and low of 64 degrees. Sunny in the morning, overcast overnight.

Six other candidates have rearranged their schedules to attend, it is not a requirement to give special consideration. Giving her credentials and resume during public comment was a good idea.
