Saline Boys Win SEC Cross Country Meet

The Hornets used their depth to sneak past Pioneer by six points (46 to 52). Saline put three runners in the top 10. Anthony Lamus, who did not race Saturday at Bath, was the first Hornet over the finish line. He placed third in 16:29.14. He was followed in by senior classmates Andrew Kitto (5th, 16:43.76) and Grant Praschan (6th, 16:47). Senior Dylan Jennings (13th, 17:07.89) and junior John Dolson (19th, 17:23.62) completed the scoring for Saline.
Also running in the boys varsity race were juniors Sean Dew (25th, 17:36) and Kaj Althus (63rd, 18:54). In between those two, were seniors, Mathew Elms and Patrick Dun placing 36th and 37th respectively with the times of 17:57.57 and 17:58.67.
The boys' varsity squad and about twenty other select runners will be back in action Friday at the Spartan Invite hosted by Playmakers in East Lansing. The rest of team will compete next weekend at the Jackson Invitational.
