ANN ARBOR, Michigan (April 4, 2025)—High-demand pharmacy technology and fiber optics certifications are available in the new season of Washtenaw Community College (WCC) non-credit Fast-Track Job Training, professional development and personal enrichment classes.
New Spring/Summer courses are available in the latest WCC's Live Work Learn publication or online.
Fast-Track Job Training
Fast-track Job Training programs align with in-demand industry certifications to quickly earn the skills and credentials employers want in a few weeks. WCC's fast-track programs cover cybersecurity, telecommunications, health care, digital marketing, and other sectors.
Three new Fast-Track programs provide certifications for high-demand fiber optics careers – Certified Fiber Optic Technician, Certified Fiber Optic Specialist in Testing and Maintenance, and Certified Fiber Optic Specialist/Splicing. The first of multiple sessions begins Monday, April 7, and will repeat at other times throughout the spring and summer.
Another example of Fast-Track certifications for in-demand fields is the Certified Pharmacy Technician Training course. WCC offers a classroom and hands-on instruction program to prepare students for entry-level pharmacy jobs. Students will learn essential skills like medication preparation, prescription processing and inventory management.
This year, WCC and the University of Michigan Credit Union (UMCU) partnered to provide affordable financing options for students interested in more than 40 Fast-Track classes, many of which are offered online. UMCU financing combines with other scholarships and funding options.
