Saline Girls Second at Waterford Mott Relay

Gillian Walter helped the Lady Hornets win a relay event Saturday at Waterford Mott.

Milford edged Saline in girls track and field scoring at the Ashley/Brennan Relays, held Saturday at Waterford Mott.

Abby Rentschler, Hannah Cummings, Gillian Walter and Jessica Larson finished first in the 4-by-1600 relay, completing the race in 21:18.02, 22 seconds faster than the second place team from Milford. Rentschler, Lillian Scheske, Ashley Amegan and Hannah Cummings won the 800-400-400-800 relay in 6:42.59.

In the 4-by-100, Lisa Gross, Andrea Luurtsema, Jordan Page and Alexia Bowden placed third in 51.92.

The shuttle relay team of Sara Foley, Maddie Keith, Margaret McCarren and Carrie Theisen placed fifth.

The team of Haleigh Cummings, Lauren Green, Taylor Vaughan and Regan Smith placed seventh in the 1200-400-800-1600 relay (13:41).

Individually, Erin Connor won the shot put (36-05.25). Elaine Schwingel (31-08) was seventh. Connor was fourth in the discuss (100-08) and Schwingel was seventh (94-10).

Lauren Sayre placed second in high jump, clearing 5-02. Kyra Ross was eighth in 4-09.

Freshman Jessica Larson was third in the 3200, finishing in 11:00.95.

Haleigh Cummings was sixth in the 300 meter hurdles (51.59). Maddie Keith was 10th (52.47).
