Washtenaw County Circuit Judge Carol Kuhnke ruled the township may not prohibit the outdoor growth of medical marijuana in all zoning districts, which would allow a York Township grower to continue to operate behind a home in a residential district.
Last year, the section closest to Milan, up to Stony Creek Road, was resurfaced. Townsend commented that in 2016, the plan is to keep going north on Saline-Milan Road and resurface up to Moon Road with mill-and-overlay.
After more than four years in the making, the Deer Ridge housing development has finally approved by York Township. The property consists of almost 80 acres on the north side of Judd Road just east of Moon Road, in the Saline Area Schools district. The plan calls for 49 homes in three phases.
York township’s building inspector, Tom Toth, presented a report showing only 13 new housing permits were issued in 2014 in the first 10 months. New housing permits have shot up in 2015, as 32 permits were issued in the first 10 months this year.
“When you get an unexpected visitor, such as door-to-door salesperson, or whatever, I want to know. Use your phone to take pictures of the person,” Deputy DeZwaan advised the public at a York Township meeting.
