I am fortunate to have lived in Saline all my life.

My wife and I went to Saline Area Schools. We were high school sweethearts, we got married and had three daughters who all went to Saline Area Schools and went on with their education. They all have families now, so we have grandkids in the schools.

The community has always paid to have Saline Area Schools be the best. The district has always been funded with bonds.

Now that I’m older, I get it. When I was a kid there was always that older couple who lived at the corner who yelled at you for walking on their lawn. Those folks were paying for me to go school. So it’s a pay it forward thing. Now I’m paying for great schools for my grandkids. My kids are paying for their kids.

Now I’m that old guy on the corner who pays for Saline schools. My house is worth a lot more that way. Our community is worth a lot more.

We pay a lot of taxes. Most of the time we have no control about what our tax dollars go to. But this bond is something where I know what the money is for. It’s all spelled out.

It’s an opportunity for me to make a good choice for Saline.

No matter what you’re going to do, just vote.
