Long-time musical partners and best friends Robert Jones and Matt Watroba return to Mangiamo Italian Grill in Saline and the Acoustic Routes series on Saturday night at 8 p.m. for a concert that trace six decades of American musical history, including the blues, folk, jazz and and even a little hip hop.
Watroba sings and writes songs of compassion, inner strength, humor, and every day living. He was awarded "Best Overall Folk Performer" by the Detroit Music Awards in 2000, and his long list of credits include the prestigious Ann Arbor Folk Festival and the Detroit 300 Celebration.
Jones is widely regarded blues singer and guitarist. He influences include blues legends like Rev. Gary Davis, Blind Willie Johnson and Joshua White. Jorma Kaukonen, the famed Jefferson Airplane and Hot Tuna guitarist, tapped him to teach at the Fur Peace Ranch guitar camp, and he has performed at Doc Watson's MerleFest folk music festival and countless other venues across the country.
