The Saline Post is pleased to announce two improvements that will serve the community well.

On the newsletter front, the Saline Post is using Mail Chimp to deliver our newsletter each morning at about 6:30 a.m..To subscribe, all you have to do is register with the site (click here). When you subscribe, you'll also receive our breaking news alerts, which we'll mostly send for serious breaking news. But we might also use them to inform people about last-minute event changes.

The other big change we've made is to our event listings. Individual event postings look the same. But the listings can now be found in several formats. Our front page has a list of upcoming events. You can also find our events in calendar format on our calendar page. To post events, you must be a registered user. Once you are a user, you can post events by clicking the Post It! link in our main front page menu.

Our event calendar is free. With the new newsletter and new calendar, upcoming events will also be shipped in our morning newsletter. We also have a spot in our morning newsletter that we've reserved for advertising, which we hope will cover the cost of the delivery service as our subscriptions grow.

Readers have been asking about the newsletter since we launched. We thank you for your patience and hope it serves your needs.

Any one with ideas for features or changes can reach me at [email protected].
