Saline High School senior Mary Hanna is Michigan’s tennis champ.
Hanna was dominant as she stormed through the MHSAA Division 1 top singles flight Friday and Saturday at the Midland Community Tennis Center.
Hanna defeated Clarkston’s Lexi Baylis, 6-1 and 6-2 in the championship. Throughout the tournament, Hanna lost just seven games and never lost a set.
She opened by defeated Northville’s Reeshma Kumar, 6-0 and 6-1. In the quarterfinals, Hanna downed Farmington Hills Mercy’s Winnie Karoub, 6-0 and 6-0. Hanna won her semifinals match against Traverse City Central, 6-0 and 6-3.
Hanna was also the regional number one flight champ.
