People play broomball behind Hartman Insurance during last year's Winterfest.

Winterfest 2017 is taking place Saturday, Jan. 28, in the four blocks of downtown Saline with plenty of indoor and outdoor activities for families, children and adults.

Activities will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and additional adult competitions will begin at 3 p.m. This year's event will consist of more than 20 activities. Some of these activities include: broomball, family activities, obstacle course, board games, outdoor euchre, darts, corn hole, entertainment, & warming fires.

This year’s event is ready for any weather with family activities inside businesses and fellowship halls, and outdoor events ready for all ages and challenge levels.

People can acquire a Winterfest button by donating $5 to receive specials and offers at nearby businesses during the month of February. This button also serves as a stay out of jail pass during the event. People can pick up their button at downtown businesses or at the event.

Also don’t miss the famous Winterfest Medallion Hunt commencing the week before the event. Daily clues will lead you to the Medallion hidden in Downtown Saline. First to retrieve and turn it in will claim the prize… This is a great outdoor family activity.
