As a follow-up to the visioning sessions held in late spring 2019, the City of Saline will be hosting an upcoming forum to discuss the future of the City’s municipally-owned and operated Recreation Center.
“The city’s recreation complex is a valued community resource, and it must be preserved”, said Saline Mayor, Brian Marl, “However, it should not be an undue burden on our City’s general fund, and it should be well used and accessible to the entire Saline community. The City received excellent feedback from community members and Rec Center patrons this past spring, and we’re hoping for additional input as we prioritize what changes/improvements are most desired by members of the Saline community.”
The upcoming forum will be held at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, January 15, in the council chambers at city hall, located at 100 N. Harris St.
Light refreshments will be served.
The forum will be facilitated by Lisa Shea, Associate Director of the University of Michigan’s Recreational Sports Department. Associate Director Shea is a local fitness instructor and a well-regarded community volunteer. Attendees will participate in a facilitated discussion and will help prioritize suggested improvements to the Rec Center complex. These suggestions will be included in a formal report that will be submitted to City Council later this year. Finally, the event should last no longer than an hour and a half –
All Rec Center patrons and area residents are encouraged to attend. RSVPs are not necessary.
